Kipsy Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Kipsy Android app ("Kipsy", "the app") handles information. Kipsy is made by YCJW FBA LLC ("we", "us"), 506 Monte Vis, Irvine, California 92602-2010, United States.

1. Information kept on your device

Kipsy stores the following only in its private storage on your device. We do not receive a copy.

• Recordings you make: audio played by other apps, and screen recordings, which can include whatever was on the screen. Kipsy does not record from the microphone.
• Subtitles made from your recordings. Speech recognition runs on your device.
• Your library: folder and file names, starred lines and files, and playback positions.
• Settings, such as subtitle languages, repeat options and where the floating button sits.
• Simple usage counts used inside the app, such as how many times the upgrade screen was shown. These are not sent anywhere.

Android's app backup is turned off for Kipsy, so this data is not copied to cloud backups by the app.

2. Network connections

Kipsy connects to the internet only for these purposes:

• Speech model download. To make subtitles, Kipsy downloads a speech recognition model file from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) the first time it is needed. Like any download, this request reveals your device's IP address to Hugging Face. No recordings or other personal information are sent. See the Hugging Face privacy policy.
• Purchases. Premium is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment; we do not receive your payment details. The app receives only whether a purchase is active. See the Google Privacy Policy.

3. Sharing

A recording leaves Kipsy only when you choose Share. It is then passed to the app you pick, and that app's own policy applies.

4. Permissions

• Screen capture: to make screen and audio recordings. Android asks for your consent before each capture session.
• Display over other apps: to show the floating record button.
• Notifications: to show recording status, playback controls and reminders about a subscription.

5. Keeping and deleting data

Your data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall Kipsy, which removes it. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

6. Children

Kipsy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

7. Your rights, including California residents

We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not hold personal information about Kipsy users. If you have a question or request about your privacy, contact us and we will respond.

8. Security

App data is kept in Kipsy's private storage, protected by Android's app sandbox. Please keep your device secured with a screen lock.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. If Kipsy ever begins to send information off your device, this policy will say so before that happens.
